Capstone Regretfully Announces the Passing of Chris Tomanik

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 7, 2009 -- Capstone Mining Corporation (Toronto:CS.TO - News) deeply regrets to announce the sad news of the passing of one of its founding employees, Mr. Chris Tomanik.

On Thursday, April 2, 2009, Chris passed away tragically at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, as a result of cardiac-related problems. Chris was one of the Company's founding employees and a key member of the management team that built Capstone into a profitable copper producer, as well as creating and building Silverstone Resources Corp. into a silver stream company. He will be remembered for his many accomplishments, his gregarious personality, his passion for the Company and his commitment to all facets of the development of Capstone and Silverstone.

Born March 5, 1963 in Calgary, Alberta, Chris was a loving husband, son, brother, father and devoted friend. He was a respected member of his community and spent much of his time contributing to his community and enriching the lives of those around him. Those who were fortunate enough to spend time with Chris remember him for his kindness, his love of life and his great generosity of spirit. He leaves behind his wife of over 20 years, Lisa, and the pride, joy and lights of his life - his sons Cole and Jared.
