CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carlisle Cos., which makes truck brakes, tires, wheels and construction and roofing materials, said Thursday that it has acquired Electronic Cable Specialists Inc.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Electronic Cable, a privately held Franklin, Wis.-based company, designs and manufactures electrical and structural products for the aviation, medical and industrial markets. Its annual sales are $50 million.

Carlisle said the acquisition complements its specialty wire and cable operations and broadens its product and engineering capabilities for its commercial and defense airframe customers.

Carlisle shares fell 31 cents to $33.60 in morning trading Thursday.
