China ETFs: Your Cheat Sheet to Investing in China Exchange Traded Funds

With all the concern in the United States about the size of China’s economy and its rise on the global scene, I thought I’d take a quick look at some ETFs that give US investors access to China’s economy.

  1. Global X China Technology ETF (NYSE:CHIB): The Global X China Technology ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Technology Index.
  2. Global X China Energy ETF (NYSE:CHIE): The Global X China Energy ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Energy Index.
  3. Global X China Industrials ETF (NYSE:CHII):  The Global X China Industrial ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Industrials Index.
  4. Global X China Materials ETF (NYSE:CHIM):  The Global X China Materials ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Materials Index.
  5. Global X China Consumer ETF (NYSE:CHIQ): The Global X China Consumer ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Consumer Index.
  6. Global X China Financials ETF (NYSE:CHIX):  The Global X China Financials ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the S-BOX China Financials Index.
  7. Emerging Globals Shares INDXX China Infrastructure Fund (NYSE:CHXX): The Emerging Global Shares INDXX China Infrastructure Index Fund is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the INDXX China Infrastructure Index.
  8. Market Vectors Chinese Renminbi (NYSE:CNY): The Market Vectors-Renminbi/UST ETN is an exchange-traded note issued in the USA.  The Notes will provide investors with a cash payment at the scheduled maturity or early redemption, based on the performance of the S&P Chinese Renminbi Total Return Index.
  9. Guggenheim China Technology ETF (NYSE:CQQQ): The Guggenheim China Technology Exchange-Traded Fund Trust 2 is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before the Fund’s fees and expenses, of an equity index called the AlphaShares China Technology Index.
  10. WisdomTree Dreyfus China Yuan Fund (NYSE:CYB):  The WisdomTree Dreyfus China Yuan Fund is an actively managed exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks to earn current income reflective of money market rates in China available to foreign investors.  The Fund also seeks to provide exposure changes in the Chinese Yuan relative to the US Dollar.
  11. Direxion Daily China 3X Bear (NYSE:CZI):  The Direxion Daily China 3X Bear is an exchange-traded fund incorporate in the USA.  The Fund’s objective is daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 300% of the inverse of the price performance of the BONY/Mellon China Select ADR Index.
  12. Direxion Daily China 3X Bull (NYSE:CZM): The Direxion Daily China 3X Bull is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund’s objective is daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 300% of the price performance of the BONY/Mellon China Select ADR Index.
  13. iShares FTSE China (NASDAQ:FCHI): The iShares FTSE China Index Fund is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the FTSE China Index.
  14. iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund (NYSE:FXI): The iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index Fund is an exchange traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.  The Fund invests 90% of its assets in the underlying index, which represents the performance of the largest companies in the China equity market.
  15. ProShares Ultrashort FTSE China (NYSE:FXP):  The UltraShort FTSE/Xinhua China 25 ProShares is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the performance of 200% of the inverse (opposite) of the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.
  16. SPDR S&P China ETF (NYSE:GXC): The SPDR S&P China ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund’s objective is to replicate the performance of the S&P China BMI Index.  The Index measures publicly traded companies domiciled in China, but legally available to foreign investors.
  17. Guggenheim China Small Cap Index (NYSE:HAO):  The Guggenheim China Small Cap Index ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the AlphaShares China Small Cap Index.
  18. PowerShares Golden Dragon Halter USX China Portfolio (NYSE:PGJ): The Powershares Golden Dragon Halter USX China Portfolio is an exchange traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield of the USA Chine Index.  The Fund will normally invest at least 80% of its total assets in common stocks of companies deriving a majority of their revenues from the People’s Republic of China.
  19. Guggenheim China Real Estate ETF (NYSE:TAO): The Guggenheim Real Estate ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond to the price and yield of the AlphaShares China Real Estate Index.
  20. ProShares Ultra FTSE/Xinhua China 25 (NYSE:XPP):  The ProShares Ultra FTSE/Xinhua China 25 is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks daily investment results that correspond to twice (200%) the daily performance of the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.  The Fund invests in equity securities that should have similar daily return of the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.
  21. Guggenheim China All-Cap ETF (NYSE:YAO):  The Guggenheim China All-Cap ETF is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the performance, before the Fund’s fees and expenses, of an equity index call the AlphaShares China Index.
  22. ProShares Short FTSE/Xinhua China 25 (NYSE:YXI):  The ProShares Short FTSE/Xinhua China 25 is an exchange-traded fund incorporated in the USA.  The Fund seeks daily investment results that correspond to the inverse (opposite) of the daily performance of the FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index.
