Beginning this week and running through December 21, the Bank will be collecting canned and dried food items from its employees and customers at its eight branch locations throughout Nevada. The donated food items will then be given to the various nonprofit organizations for distribution to homeless and needy families for during both the Thanksgiving and December holiday season.

"Every year our employees and clients look forward to this special time of year and the opportunity it affords us to help those in need," said Larry Charlton, senior vice president and Nevada regional executive of City National Bank. "We enjoy partnering with our friends at the various nonprofit agencies that help the bank reach out to a growing segment of the state's population that needs a helping hand, especially during this time of year."

Charlton added that while the holidays are a great time for people and businesses to give back to their communities, philanthropic outreach should be and is a year-round commitment at City National. The bank continues to support educational outreach programs through at-risk schools in Nevada, the mentally handicapped through Opportunity Village in the Las Vegas valley and Eagle Valley Children's Home in Carson City, numerous health charities throughout the state, and much more.

People who would like to donate non-perishable food items to City National's holiday food drive can drop off their donations at any of the bank's five southern Nevada branches located at 6085 W. Twain Avenue and the southeast corner of Jones Boulevard; 2320 E. Tropicana near the corner of Eastern Avenue; 3883 Howard Hughes Parkway; 10801 W. Charleston Blvd., in Summerlin, and 4310 W. Cheyenne and Valley Drive in North Las Vegas. In northern Nevada, people can drop off their food items at 6518 S. McCarran Boulevard in Reno, 1811 E. College Parkway and Goni Road in Carson City, and 1647 Highway 395 in Minden.

The Bank contributes financial, in-kind and volunteer assistance to nonprofit institutions and organizations that enhance the quality of life and promote public interest where the company conducts its business. The four main areas of the Bank's philanthropic outreach include education, health and human services, community development, and arts and culture.
