•    Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) reported Q2 EPS of $0.42, ex-items, marginally higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.41 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 51% year-over-year to $14.3 billion, beating consensus estimates of $13.773 billion

•    Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) posted adjusted Q2 EPS of $0.60, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.56 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 10.2% year-over-year to $7.03 billion, ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $6.788 billion

•    Marsh & McLennan Cos. (NYSE:MMC) reported Q2 EPS of $0.50, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.48 per share. Revenues for the quarter rose 12% year-over-year to $2.93 billion, topping the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.81 billion

•    Customized traffic and news reports provider Global Traffic Network Inc (NASDAQ:GNET) is to be acquired by GTCR LLC, a private equity firm for $14 per share. Following this development, share prices of Global Traffic jumped 19.62% to close at $13.96

•    Share prices of MasterCard Inc. (NYSE:MA) rose 13.39% after the company posted second quarter earnings figures that came in above market expectations

•    Utilities contractor Quanta Services, Inc.’s (NYSE:PWR)  shares prices increased 10.90% after the company increased its revenue outlook for the 2011 fiscal

•    Analysts at Robert W. Baird downgraded Leap Wireless (NASDAQ:LEAP) to “Neutral rating from an “Outperform rating and reduced the target price to $11 from $19 per share

•    Shares of Marathon Oil Co. (NYSE:MRO) were downgraded by analysts at Credit Suisse (NYSE:CS) to "Neutral" rating from “Outperform rating with a target price of $36

•    Analysts at Robert W. Baird downgraded shares of MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE:PCS) from an "Outperform" rating to a "Neutral" rating setting a new target price of $10, down from $22
