(NASDAQ:LEAP - News), will host a charity golf tournament on Tuesday, November 10, 2009, to raise funds for families dealing with cancer at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego. Approximately three children are diagnosed with cancer each week in San Diego.

The sold-out event is expected to raise more than $100,000 for the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders with the support of sponsors, participants and volunteers. This is the fourth year that Cricket has hosted a charity golf tournament in which various wireless industry professionals come together to aid in the fight against Cancer. The tradition started in 2006 when a Cricket employee’s immediate family member was struck by cancer and the company rallied in support. Last year the event raised $80,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of San Diego.

The event will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at 10 a.m. at Maderas Golf Club, the number one rated golf club in San Diego County, located at 17750 Old Coach Road in Poway, Calif. The full day of festivities includes a helicopter ball drop raffle, foursome golf scramble, silent auction and awards presentation.
