ANDOVER, Mass., Aug. 26, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dynamics Research Corporation (Nasdaq:DRCO - News), a leading provider of innovative management consulting, engineering, and information technology services and solutions to federal and state governments, today announced it has been awarded seven task orders by the Army Research Institute (ARI) worth a total value of $2.1 million. Under the terms of these contracts, which on average have a period of performance of one to two years, DRC will evaluate training courses and materials and gauge their ability to train soldiers to achieve mission objectives.

"These contracts represent a continued effort between ARI and DRC to couple emerging training technologies and methodologies with proven best practices for better force preparation and results."
DRC will target training to small unit Army leaders and apply lessons learned to develop realistic and relevant scenarios for training. Through a combination of research and analysis, DRC will provide ARI with the tools and techniques to develop, implement, and assess experiments that evaluate the effectiveness of new and innovative training approaches.
Services performed by DRC under these contracts include: evaluations of home station training tools for Company Intelligence Support Teams (CoIST), planning, implementing, and assessing performance improvement in Brigade Combat Teams, validating collective and individual task skills sustainment in the Future Force, assessing attention threat detection, appraising the tools and methods for home station training support, reviewing services to improve Master Gunner Course attrition rates, and assessing soldier-focused video-based training for expert performance. The contracts will be serviced out of DRC's Radcliff/Ft. Knox, Kentucky office.
