Dell, Brocade in expanded reselling deal

Dell to offer networking and storage equipment from Brocade in expanded reselling deal

  • On 9:55 am EDT, Wednesday September 2, 2009

ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) -- Computer maker Dell Inc. and Brocade Communications Systems Inc. said Wednesday that Dell will begin selling Brocade networking and storage gear through its sales operations.

The deal expands previous agreements between the two companies and allows Dell to offer a wider selection of products for corporate computer systems under its own brand as it looks to expand further beyond the ailing PC business.

The companies said they will also be collaborating on new data center technology.

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Shares of San Jose, Calif.-based Brocade were up 14 cents to $7.41 in morning trading, while Dell's stock rose 29 cents to $15.50.
