Discount store sales comparisons for October

NEW YORK (AP) -- Summary of sales at stores open at least a year in October for discount chains, with percentage increase or decrease over the same month last year.

These sales are a key indicator of a retailers' health because they exclude sales at newly opened stores. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. no longer reports figures on a monthly basis.

BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. -1.1 pct

Costco Wholesale Corp. 5 pct

Target Corp. -0.1 pct
