NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME - News), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that its EMCOR Government Services unit has been awarded a contract from the General Services Administration (GSA) supporting the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Air Force for facilities operations and maintenance services at the medical facilities at Robins AFB, Georgia. The contract, which commenced on October 1, 2009, is for an initial twelve-month period, with options permitting GSA to extend the contract period through September 30, 2014.
EMCOR Government Services’ (EGS) scope of work includes full service maintenance for all medical gas, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment as well as providing minor facility repairs. EGS will also be responsible for preventive maintenance services for the security, fire protection, electrical and plumbing equipment and other systems included in the building.
Robins AFB is the home of Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, the 78th Air Base Wing and more than 60 other units that make up a vital part of the Air Force war fighting team. It is the largest industrial complex in Georgia, employing a workforce of over 25,000 civilians, contractors and military service personnel.
