Earnings roundup: Hi-Tech Pharmacal profit soars on generic drug sales, John Wiley net drops

AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -- Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co. said Wednesday its fiscal first-quarter profit climbed more than fivefold due to strong sales of new generic drugs, including treatments for ear infections.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (AP) -- Publisher John Wiley & Sons Inc. said Wednesday its first-quarter profit fell 11 percent as currency exchange movements hurt revenue.

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) -- FuelCell Energy Inc., which makes fuel cells for electric power generation, said Wednesday that it narrowed its fiscal third-quarter loss by 41 percent, better than analysts expected, as revenue fell nearly 18 percent.
