Emptoris Contract Management Receives "Positive" Rating in New Independent Research Report

BURLINGTON, MA--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 3, 2008 -- Emptoris, a leading provider of enterprise supply and contract management software, today announced that the Emptoris Contract Management solution received a "positive" rating in the independent research report, "MarketScope for Enterprise Contract Management,"(1) published by Gartner, Inc.

Earlier this year, Emptoris was positioned in the "Leaders Quadrant" in the Gartner research report titled, "Magic Quadrant For Sourcing Application Suites, 2008"(2) and the company also received overall "positive" rating in the Gartner research report "Vendor Rating: Emptoris"(3).

The Gartner "MarketScope for Enterprise Contract Management" is a 23-page report reviewing a dozen contract management providers across six criteria, including: customer experience, innovation, strategy, viability, including financial viability, and an evaluation of the product and services.

The report notes a trend towards a cross enterprise view of contract management, concluding, "We predict that the market will favor general-purpose contract management tools over narrowly scoped tools." It further notes the trend of integration of contract management with other solutions and systems. "Organizations are increasingly integrating their enterprise contract management solutions with other internal applications such as enterprise content management (ECM) systems and ERPs. Thirty-nine percent of the reference organizations queried for this research connect their solutions to at least one other application."
