MCKINNEY, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Encore Wire Corporation (NASDAQ Global Select: WIRE) announced that the Company’s Chairman Emeritus, Vincent A. Rego, passed away earlier today.

“Born and raised in Rhode Island, he served in the 101^st Airborne Division in World War II, including the great battles at Normandy and Bastogne. He started in the wire business in 1951 in Rhode Island and came to Texas in 1953 where he worked until his stroke in May of 2005. We will always remember his broad smile and generous nature. Funeral arrangements are pending.”
