Coal companies shares up at the close of trading

NEW YORK (AP) -- 

Shares of some top coal companies were up at the close of trading:
Arch Coal rose $.82 or 5.0 percent, to $17.21.
Consol Energy rose $1.23 or 4.2 percent, to $30.20.
Massey Energy rose $.36 or 2.5 percent, to $14.52.
Peabody Energy rose $1.20 or 4.9 percent, to $25.68.
