SEATTLE, WA--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 2, 2009 -- Fisher Communications, Inc. (NasdaqGM:FSCI - News) today issued the following statement after reaching an agreement in principle on a carriage contract with Charter Communications:

"Fisher Communications and Charter Communications are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement in principle for continued carriage of Fisher's television stations on Charter's cable systems."

Fisher's programming is carried on Charter's cable systems in Seattle, Portland, Eugene and Yakima.
