Flowers Foods buys Leo's Foods, terms undisclosed

Flowers Foods buys Leo's Foods for undisclosed terms, will boost tortilla market presence

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Bakery goods company Flowers Foods Inc. on Monday said it bought Leo's Foods Inc., which makes flour and corn tortillas and tortilla chips.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Flowers CEO George E. Deese said that the purchase allows the company to expand its presence in the tortilla market.

Flowers Foods, based in Thomasville, Ga., operates 39 bakeries nationwide and produces bakery foods.

Shares of Flowers Foods ended at $23.87 on Friday.
