ELKRIDGE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global performance improvement solutions provider General Physics Corporation (GP), the operating subsidiary of GP Strategies Corporation (NYSE:GPX - News), announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide Learning Management System (LMS) support to the Defense Security Service (DSS), an agency of the US Department of Defense (DoD).
DSS supports national security, secures the nation’s technological base and oversees the protection of U.S. and foreign classified information in the hands of industry. DSS accomplishes this mission by clearing industrial facilities, personnel and associated information systems; collecting, analyzing and providing threat information to industry and government partners; managing foreign ownership control and influence in cleared industry, providing advice and oversight to industry; delivering security education and training; and providing information technology services that support the industrial security mission of the DoD and its partner agencies.
DSS uses the LMS to manage administration of instructor-led and on-line training for DoD employees and contractors. GP will assist DSS by supporting their enterprise LMS program, including onsite administration support, project management, configuration management support, operational and testing support and software customization development. The contract consists of a base year and two option years. GP estimates that the value of the contract, if both option years are exercised, is approximately $4 million.
“I am pleased that DSS selected GP’s knowledge management practice to assist with their enterprise LMS program. We welcome DSS to our growing list of US Government agencies that depend on GP for LMS program support,” said Don Duquette, Executive Vice President of GP.
