Gerber Scientific closes on sale
Gerber Scientific completes sale of laser marking and engraving unit

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (AP) -- Gerber Scientific Inc. said Wednesday it completed the sale of its laser marking and engraving business unit, FOBA Technology.
The company announced earlier this month that it was selling the business to ALLTEC Angewandte Laserlicht Technologie, a business unit of Videojet Technolgies Inc.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but Gerber said it will use the proceeds from the sale to reduce debt and for general corporate purposes.
Shares of Gerber rose 26 cents to $4.41 in afternoon trading Wednesday.
