WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Hanesbrands Inc., maker of pantyhose, socks and other apparel, said Wednesday that it has signed distribution deals that should lead to 5 percent sales growth in 2010.
The company, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., said the growth is not dependent on an increase in consumer spending. It said the gains are expected to comes from changes in shelf-space allocation and distribution.
Hanesbrands sells brands such as Champion, Hanes, Wonderbra, Bali, Playtex, Just My Size and others.
Its shares rose 29 cents to $22.10 in aftermarket trading after closing Wednesday's regular session at $21.81, down $1.09, or 4.8 percent.
