Generator Creates Personalized Cards Using Any Video

ROCKVILLE, MD--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 4, 2008 -- For those with serious YouTube devotion and a bit of a creative thumb, HappyBirthday.com has created a new generator that lets you build and customize video e-cards using any embeddable YouTube video.

"It's a mash-up of YouTube and our e-card system," says HappyBirthday.com CEO Mike Fiol. "It creates the potential for millions of different cards."

The generator allows users to add a pre-made background image, choose a background color or add and design a border. Customize the title font, size, color and text. A personal message can be further adjusted and the e-card set-up and sent up to a year in advance.

The new system follows other HappyBirthday.com distinctions such as the 'Remember When?' e-cards and a series of original Flash animated e-cards.

"Our focus is on our members and all the resources we can provide them," adds Fiol, who is also a domain name industry speaker, analyst and writer. "But they have to be unique resources -- like the new e-cards."

Aside from the e-cards, the site, launched in 2003, is primarily known for its free reminder service, which gives members up to 150 birthday reminders delivered via email and/or mobile phone. Reminders can be shared and updated and e-cards can be attached.

"I built the site for myself," laughs Fiol. "I was always terrible with birthdays -- until I built the site and the service."

Fiol says future innovations include e-card tracking and phone e-cards but for the moment, he's simply enjoying the new generator.

"I've made dozens already," he adds proudly. "This is another service feature I built for my own use."
