KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) -- Idaho Power Co., a subsidiary of IdaCorp Inc., has restored power to homes and businesses in the Wood River Valley, Fairfield and Carey.
But crews are still working to turn the lights back on in the more remote mountain towns of Pine and Featherville.
Utility spokesman Russell Jones says heavy, wet snow downed lines Monday morning, cutting electricity service to more than 3,600 customers in Hailey, Bellevue and the nearby towns of Fairfield and Carey. Jones says power was restored to most of the area's customers by Monday afternoon.
The storm that swept over the area also knocked down power lines Sunday night that service Pine and Featherville. Power has been restored to some, but as many as 600 customers are sill without service.
