Jacobs Engineering hired for expansion, renovation of Texas medical facilities

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. said Tuesday it received a contract worth up to $16.8 million from University Health System of Bexar County, Texas, to renovate and expand medical facilities.

Jacobs will provide lead program management services for the design and construction of two major health-care projects in the San Antonio, Texas, area. The projects' combined value will be nearly $900 million.

The projects entail expanding and renovating University Hospital and its largest outpatient clinic.

In afternoon trading, Jacobs Engineering's shares fell 64 cents to $45.41.
