NEW YORK (AP) -- JetBlue Airways Corp. said on Thursday that its traffic and capacity rose a little more than 7 percent in October, making it one of the few airlines to grow that month.
JetBlue said revenue passenger miles -- or one paying passenger flown one mile -- rose 7.2 percent to 2.02 billion from 1.88 billion during October 2008. Capacity rose 7.1 percent to 2.5 billion available seat miles from 2.33 billion.
Load factor, or occupancy, rose 0.1 percentage points to 80.8 percent.
JetBlue shares rose 10 cents to $4.86 in afternoon trading.
