HUDSON, Ohio, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. (NYSE: JAS - News) the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, today announced that Brent Beebe has been named vice president, general merchandise manager, craft division, effective September 28, 2009.
Beebe will report to Travis Smith, chief operating officer of Jo-Ann Stores, and will be an integral part of the merchandising organization responsible for Jo-Ann's offerings in the growing craft division.
"Brent brings a wealth of management experience in a variety of merchandise categories, ranging from footwear to electronics," said Smith. Most recently, Beebe was vice president, merchandiser, home electronics of Fred Meyer, the super center division of The Kroger Company. In this capacity, Beebe was responsible for the product categories of entertainment, photo finishing, consumer electronics and services. Beebe has held a variety of merchandising and marketing responsibilities at Fred Meyer Stores and May Company.
Beebe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children.
