Kansas Properties Selling at Auction Under Hybrid Model That Combines Face-to-Face Showing and Online Bidding

MANHATTAN, KS--(MARKET WIRE)--Mar 16, 2009 -- Four properties totaling 647 acres in Morris, Pottawatomie and Chase counties are being sold in an auction that combines "boots-on-the-ground" personal marketing with online bidding. Bidding on the properties is already under way and will end Wednesday, April 1, with Purple Wave Auction managing the sale.

All of the properties are selling at absolute auction, with no reserve or minimum bid, according to McKee.

The properties being sold include:

 
--  Approximately 320 acres in Council Grove, including pasture, tillable
    land, hunting land and potential home sites. The land will sell in four
    tracts, ranging from 15 acres to 195 acres.
--  Approximately 240 acres northwest of Westmoreland in Pottawatomie
    County, selling in four  tracts.
--  Approximately 60 acres south of Westmoreland, including 18 tillable
    acres and 42 acres of native grass.
--  Approximately 27 acres in Chase County with a 25-acre lake.

While the bidding is being conducted online, the showings and inspections are local, according to McKee.
