LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 7, 2009 -- Katanga Mining Limited (Toronto:KAT.TO - News) ("Katanga" or the "Company") today confirmed that duly completed and executed proxies in respect of the special general meeting of the Company to be held on January 12, 2009 will be accepted if they are deposited prior to 5:00 pm (Bermuda time) on January 09, 2009 at the registered office of the Company, Canon's Court, 22 Victoria Street, Hamilton, HM EX, Bermuda, or 9:00 am (Toronto time) on January 10, 2009 at the offices of Equity Transfer and Trust Company, Proxy Department, 200 University Avenue, Suite 400, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 4H1 (Fax: (416) 342-1095). Proxies may be revoked if such revocations are received prior to 8:00 am on January 12, 2009 by Equity Transfer & Trust Company at the address or fax number listed above.
