CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- "We have learned that the ministry is not in a particular location, it is anywhere we are, even on the city streets," writes Freddie Power, founder of the worldwide ministry Keeping Hope Alive and author of the new inspirational compilation of stories that reveal the supernatural blessings that God bestows every day, Keeping Hope Alive: God is Supernatural (published by AuthorHouse). "Everywhere our teams go, God shows us the people along the streets that He wants to minister to through us."
Stories in Keeping Hope Alive are set on the streets, in inner-city apartment complexes, public hospitals, bus stations, gas stations and restaurants. Power and her Christian outreach program reach out with small acts of kindness to enact a greater change in the world, revealing God's incredible power to answer prayers and spread his love throughout the world. The edifying resonance of Power's stories is evident in those such as "The Power of the Cross," featured below. She writes:
A team from out of town went with me to the city bus station for a
ministry outreach, passing out bottled water and praying for
individuals. I told one of the team members to get on the bench to
preach. She hopped up on a bench where a lady was already sitting at
one end. As she looked up, telling us that she wasn't going to move,
I could see that her face was distorted. I spoke to her, explaining
who we were and what we were doing. She continued making disgruntled
remarks and gestures.
At this point the young girl standing on the bench stretched her arms
wide open saying, "Jesus, But the Cross." The woman fell out on the
ground crying. The girl continued ministering the message of the
cross. Meanwhile, the lady remained weeping. When she finally stood
up again, her entire countenance had changed. She began to call out,
"My God! My God! How I love My God!"
As I held her, she explained that she had walked away from God ...
Here in the bus station, God touched her and delivered her. Some
friends of the lady came over to tell us that they had been waiting
and praying for this for so long. It was an amazing encounter with
the love of God!
Endlessly inspiring, Keeping Hope Alive will offer hope to readers and reveal how God touches their heart.
