BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) -- King Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Tuesday it licensed rights to sell cyanide poisoning antidote Cyanokit from a unit of Germany-based Merck KGaA for undisclosed terms.
The company has rights to market and sell the product in the U.S. Cyanide poisoning is typically caused by smoke inhalation from fires.
Cyanokit will be sold and distributed through Meridian Medical Technologies Inc., a unit of King Pharmaceuticals.
Shares of King Pharmaceuticals rose 18 cents to $10.51 in afternoon trading.
