Krispy Kreme to open stores in Dominican Republic

Krispy Kreme signs deal with Dominspec to open 14 stores in the Dominican Republic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. said Wednesday that it signed a franchise development deal with Dominspec SA to open 14 of its stores in the Dominican Republic over the next five years.

Terms were not disclosed.

Dominspec already runs Burger King and Papa John's restaurants in the Dominican Republic.

Shares of Krispy Kreme gained 9 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $4.17 in morning trading. The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $1.01 to $4.75.
