CHICAGO (AP) -- LKQ Corp., which makes vehicle replacement parts, said Thursday it acquired Greenleaf Auto Recyclers LLC from Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc.
In addition, LKQ said it has sold four self-service recycling facilities in Oregon and Washington to Schnitzer Steel. Lastly, it sold certain business assets to the steel company related to two self-service facilities in Northern California and a facility in Portland, Ore.
LKQ will close the California facilities and convert the Portland facility into a wholesale recycling business.
The terms of the transactions were not disclosed.
Shares of LKQ on Friday fell 10 cents to close at $18.64. Shares of Schnitzer Steel closed at $51.92 after gaining 25 cents.
