OLIVE BRANCH, Miss., Aug. 31, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Author Dezarae Dunsmuir, he observes that life has its way of leading people to different directions in their existence. For some, life can be short, happy, sorrowful or even surprising. This is the theme that drives an odyssey of touching poems in Dunsmuir's new book Life Lines.

Since life is often too short, people frequently don't have the time to reflect on the life that is occurring around them. Readers on the lookout for an enthralling odyssey must read this new book featuring the poetry and life insights of the poet. The author has given great thought when selecting the photographic art that accompanies each poem, which enhances each poem's meaning and adds depth to its narrative.

These literary pieces in Life Lines provide readers with an in-depth look at the ever changing situations of people's existence, truth's ways of affecting people, emotions that drive the spirit, and nature's creations, to name a few. This collection is filled with provocative glimpses of life moments that move from the gritty reality of modern cities to the serenity found in nature, all of which will keep any reader looking forward to the next poem. From the first page until the last, these literary and visual works will keep readers engaged and immersed in the author's personal perceptions of life and the world.

"Reminiscent of Sylvia Plath, albeit with a more eclectic vocabulary...reveals that rarest, most valuable thing -- a true poetic imagination." -- Kirkus Discoveries -- A review service from Kirkus Reviews.

Filled with emotional depth and revelations, the sometimes unexpected, frequently startling, highly charged poetry of Life Lines is highly recommended to poetry enthusiasts, photographic art lovers, and readers who seek reflective literature.
