CLEVELAND (AP) -- Lubrizol Corp. said Monday it has signed a deal to buy specialty ingredient maker Active Organics Inc. to boost its line of consumer products.

Lubrizol, which is owned by billionaire investor Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway Inc., did not disclose terms of the acquisition. But Cleveland-based Lubrizol said the stock purchase is expected to close by the end of the month.

Lewisville, Texas-based Active Organics makes naturally-derived specialty ingredients like botanical extracts.

Lubrizol said the acquisition will boost its personal and home care product line. Lubrizol is a specialty chemical company that makes products for the industrial, transportation and consumer care industries.
