RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Markel Corp., an underwriter of specialty insurance, said Monday its president and chief operating officer, Paul W. Springman, is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons.
His duties will be assumed by other executives during his leave.
Shares rose $2.95 to $332 during morning trading.
