Medifast board appoints several members

Medifast board elects Barnum, Groves and Reece, bringing board total to 14 members

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- Health and diet products company Medifast Inc. on Tuesday said its board has elected H.C. Barnum Jr., Jason L. Groves and Jerry D. Reece to the board of directors.

The appointments, which were made at the annual meeting on Friday, now mean the board has 14 members.

Four members were also re-elected. Barry B. Bondroff, George J. Lavin, Catherine T. Maguire and Jeannette M. Mills will hold office for three years until 2012.

John P. McDaniel was also elected to a yearlong term. McDaniel was appointed to the board in March.

Shares of the company declined 19 cents to $22.67.
