NEW YORK (AP) -- 

Shares of some top gold companies are down at noon:
Barrick Gold fell $.94 or 2.9 percent, to $31.78.
Gold Fields fell $.25 or 3.0 percent, to $8.13.
Goldcorp fell $.98 or 3.8 percent, to $24.68.
Newmont Mining fell $.16 or .4 percent, to $35.84.
