LANCASTER, NY--(Marketwire -12/19/11)- Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) (NASDAQ: EEI - News) is pleased to announce the addition of two statewide GreenRide Connect ridesharing programs in the states of Montana and Mississippi. Both Web-based programs will be available to all state residents to help find carpooling options and other sustainable transportation alternatives to driving alone. The programs track the gasoline, greenhouse gas, and economic savings that result, helping people make smart, informed transportation decisions. GreenRide Connect also has options for finding commuting partners that match user preferences for alternative commutes like biking programs and vanpooling.

"Sustainability begins with small behavioral changes, like carpooling instead of driving in a single occupant vehicle, which collectively lead to larger environmental impacts," said Kevin Neumaier, E & E president and CEO. GreenRide (www.greenride.com) is currently available to over 42 million people in 22 states and provides easy to use access for alternative commute programs. "Providing easy access for area residents to regional and statewide carpooling programs like GreenRide Connect continues to get easier with Web-based programs," said Mary Ann Ferris Young, Transportation Demand Management Specialist with Ecology and Environment, Inc.

The state of Mississippi's program will be operated by the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the state of Montana's program will be operated by the Western Transportation Institute at Montana State University.

Headquartered in Lancaster, N.Y., E & E has completed more than 50,000 projects for a wide variety of clients in 113 countries, providing environmental solutions in nearly every ecosystem on the planet.
