NEW YORK (AP) -- Reinsurance company Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. on Tuesday said it will retain Anthony Taylor as its non-executive chairman when his current term expires.
Taylor, 63, served as chief executive from the company's inception in 2001 and became chairman in February 2004.
On July 1, 2008, the roles were separated, with Christopher L. Harris succeeding Taylor as CEO in a planned transition.
Montpelier, based in Bermuda, sells property and casualty reinsurance and insurance products globally.
Shares closed up 35 cents, or 2.1 percent, at $16.92 in Tuesday trading.
