NRG CFO to depart, Luterman named interim CFO

NRG CFO Robert Flexon leaves to become CEO of Foster Wheeler USA; Luterman becomes interim CFO

  • On 5:58 pm EDT, Tuesday October 20, 2009

NEW YORK (AP) -- Power plant owner NRG Energy Inc. said Tuesday that Gerald Luterman will step in as interim CFO after Robert C. Flexon departs Nov. 2 to accept the top spot at Foster Wheeler USA Corp.

Flexon will become president and CEO of Foster Wheeler, a unit of oil services company Foster Wheeler AG, effective Nov. 16.

Princeton, N.J.-based NRG said Luterman will take over on an interim basis while the company searches for a permanent replacement. Luterman, who currently sits on the NRG board and its audit committee, served for eight years as CFO of KeySpan Corp.

NRG said it expects Luterman will serve as CFO at least through the announcement of the company's fiscal 2009 results, slated for release in late February 2010.

NRG's stock fell 64 cents, or 2.2 percent, to close earlier at $28.25.
