Company Speaks at COMPTEL PLUS on Building a Next Generation Network
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a global IP network services provider, today announced the company is helping regional service providers connect their business and residential customers to voice, video and data through the quality, reliability and reach of the NTT Communications Global IP Network, as will be discussed in a speaking engagement at the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2009 Convention & EXPO on Monday, October 12th at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.
Cody Christman, NTT America’s Director of Product Engineering, will be speaking on the COMPTEL panel, Network Migration: Building a Next Generation Network. The panel will focus on solutions for service providers working to integrate disparate networks, simplify architecture and migrate existing customers off TDM switches to alternative IP switching solutions. The panelists will discuss various experiences working with the integration and migration of these switching solutions, and offer insight and advice for other service providers in similar situations.
“The popularity of social media, new and mobile applications, and unified communications in the midst of a recession puts regional service providers in a challenging position. They must contain the costs of doing business while facing increasing demand from their customers to serve more and higher broadband content,” said Michael Wheeler, vice president of NTT America’s Global IP Network Business Unit. “Our portfolio of infrastructure assets gives us the opportunity to offer service providers scalable and flexible high speed connections designed to scale with their changing bandwidth needs. For example, we can shape their bandwidth and we can provision any number of 10GigE ports in a matter of days.”
NTT America operates the NTT Communications Global IP Network and Mr. Christman will focus on the benefits a global Tier-1 IP backbone brings to bear for regional service providers looking to drive technological innovation and grow their businesses. The benefits are:
In addition, NTT America will soon release a multipoint Ethernet product for downstream service providers. The multipoint Ethernet product will help downstream service providers cut costs associated with back office connectivity and communications by allowing them to connect their data centers in either a mesh or hub/spoke configuration using Ethernet instead of using private lines. As downstream providers begin to use these connections to deliver voice, video and data they can rely on NTT America for the best jitter SLA on the market.
The panel, Network Migration: Building a Next Generation Network, will take place on October 12, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Crystal H room of the Orlando World Center Marriott. Additional speakers include experts from One Communications, Alcatel-Lucent Technologies, Inc., HEADNetworks LLC and Zhone Technologies.
