OREM, UT--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 9, 2009 -- Omniture, Inc. (NasdaqGS:OMTR - News), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced the availability of the Omniture Search Engine Marketing Readiness Survey, an Omniture Online Marketing Research Report(TM). The report is designed to help marketers understand search engine marketing (SEM) best practices, identify any shortcomings in their own SEM programs, and provide knowledge to help them more effectively manage their search marketing campaigns. Results from the survey indicate that today's search marketers are making campaign decisions based on superficial metrics, such as click through rates and cost per click, and can optimize campaign effectiveness by increasing focus on deeper revenue-impacting measurements, such as profit per order, cost per unique customer and activity measurements such as time spent on site or click path. Additionally, the survey indicated the majority of search marketers are manually managing keywords using Excel, limiting their ability to effectively scale search marketing campaigns.
According to the survey*:
The data from this blind survey was compiled from more than 500 respondents in North America and represents marketers at small, medium and large organizations. Survey results are personalized to each respondent and provide a comparison of how their answers match up to both the overall survey average and industry peers.
"It is critical that today's online marketers have the tools they need to accurately measure sophisticated metrics to ensure they are seeing maximum return on search spend," said Matt Belkin, General Manager of SearchCenter for Omniture. "Marketers can benefit from advanced solutions that address these challenges by making it easier to find deeper, more impactful metrics that make a significant difference in business decisions and drive increased profits."
