It looks like NOK got downgraded by an iPhone user analyst.

Good timing on the CHK downgrade Wells Fargo. Must be time to buy.

Even though Sprint is a questionable stock in the first place but you would have thought that it wouldn't have dropped so much before earnings seeing as their new product was so well received. Was it just me that thought there were many others who knew that they would be sued over sales tax before the retail investor knew on account of the drop. It went down considerably before the news was ever available to the public, any comments, or am I overly suspicious about this market being manipulated or transparent to everyone.

If the analist of City had balls, then he downgraded CHK when they were at 25, but not below his target price!

analysts continue to minipulate the market with projections ,,to benifit there own special interest ..they ,as well as idiot bloggers think they know the future ,,and if they did it would be wrong to make money off inside info..your either in it for the long hall or for fast cash and drop it ..Peoples opinions are based on what they see,,,its all about a dollar,,go with your gut ,,never believe the seeking alfas/or economic people who want you to dump stock..to lower the price ,,then the EINSTIENS BUY IT ALL THEY CAN ,,with the discount you provided, you never thought the market would go to 10,000,or 13,0000,,what about 20,000 next ..if it crashes we are ALL in trouble ,not just the holders!!

i used to agree, but now I feel like all it is, is a game of catchup -- they're updating ratings to reflect sentiment that has already been established.. so most of the time, these things mean nothing, because the street already has it priced in, sometimes for months before these ratings are updated..

Don't kid yourselves. Government STILL has their hands in the pot! Manipulation is the name of the game.

analysts can talk to get a stock going up or they can beat the stock down.. it depend the directon they want to go with it... give you find examples of stock they done it to.. siri,
ATPG. hero, MILL, sgy, cool, these are stocks i have bought.. they speak highly of these stocks and then they go and discredit what they claim and bash these stocks. i call this action pump and dump action.. to me this should be illegal.. there should be jail time for these people. i lost good money playing their game.. now i buy stocks and sit on them for a year. yea they go up and they go down i buy and sell these stocks on their high and lows
any profit i receive goes into another stock and i watch the stock to see something i can used.

most all stocks has a pattern. i own 2,500 share of this one company when it moves up it goes up a 1.00 plus and when it goes down it drops the same.. i check to see what happening with oil in the morning and i sell it when if looks like it falls and when the stock it the safe level i want to go to. i buy back in... just remember when you listen to others people like.. analysts do you think they have your best interest in their heart..

like eric said (Interesting that someone would downgrade a company just days before their earnings release.) it is really interested why they would do it..

Why do these annalist keep Downgrading stocks. Do they have friends that they talk it over with and alert them to what they are going to do - so their friends can jump on the stock after it drops because of the downgrad? Sure looks like this to me. I've seen this happen over the years so many times.

Here's the deal. A blockbuster stock like SD is downgraded by a brokerage, maybe even shorted also, then picked up much cheaper for the huge advance. Look at the fundamentals before buying or selling. Brokers are in the business to make money for their rich clients, even if they need to take money by constantly turning over their poor clients. Trade thru a discount broker and study PEs, PEGs, cash flow of possible investments. PEs below 15, unless they are growing enormously, and PEGs below 1 are ideal candidates.

Remember, Longbow went long on US Steel at $40. I'm long now and Looove that they just downgraded. Do the opposite of Longbow and you'll make a nice chunk of change!

Spiker is correct, if the company is performing financially well, often times traders bring up the value, then when "expert"analysis turn on it......either wait a day or two then buy.....MDRX is one I have been following for years, and appears to be near a buy again for myself.......

I'm kind of sick of loosing money because analysts think they know what they are talking about.

Do your own research and pay no mind to these bought and paid for companies to sway you on what you should do. If anything wait a few days after such announcements and do the opposite.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN BY REPLYING:
It says "Monster Worldwide (MWW) downgraded to Perform from Outperform"

Isn't Outperform the market better than perform the market? But it says "Downgraded" It's confusing. I am a rookie so can someone explain??????????

      because of linkedin
    • anonymous 3 months ago
if outpeform means a 10% upside but perform means a 5% upside...10% to 5% is technically a downgrade. Still good but just not as good. As everyone else states. They say dump you say buy...

I do no one thing hgsi is a good stock to play on downgrades and it's down about $1.00 right now time to pick up some more shares .
  • DALTONP  •  Washington, District of Columbia  •  3 months ago
Cobey, look again, I think you misread it. Of course, outperform is better than perform. The analyst rated the stock "outperform" before and now has downgraded it to "perform".

I LOVE this lists of who gets down graded, it means I dont have to search for stocks to buy! as Pretty much every time someone down grades a company stock it when it just about to has has just hit it's 52week lows has a huge short interest and is ready for all the shorts to cover up... so BUY and wait for the POP and sell usually 12~27% in first 3 days is how I make most of my $ in the markets... 85% winners after the down grade in 3 months 90% winners after 3 days. shorter term plays on the list above on 40% then 40% long term plays and the last bits need researched for possible pops and or maybe the ANAL-YST got it right...

Remember: There's a good reason why the word analyst begins with "anal". I'm just sayin'.
    • Jerry 2 months ago
Good point. I've noticed a lot of people are mis-spelling it --- it is "anal cyst".
