OppenheimerFunds appoints head of distribution, chief marketing officer

NEW YORK (AP) -- Investment management company OppenheimerFunds Inc. on Wednesday named William Carey as head of distribution and Martha Willis as chief marketing officer.

Carey starts Sept. 21 and Willis starts Oct. 1.

Carey will be responsible for the firm's intermediary distribution and its retirement plans, 529 college savings, institutional and separate account businesses.

He joins the firm from Bank of America, where he was managing director of distribution and relationship management in the company's institutional retirement, philanthropy & investments division. Before that, he worked at Fidelity Investments for 14 years.

Willis joins OppenheimerFunds from Fidelity Investments where she worked for the past 25 years. Her most recent role was executive vice president, investment product management.

Willis will oversee OppenheimerFunds' corporate communications, marketing and investment brand management departments.
