HOUSTON (AP) -- Marine construction and services contractor Orion Marine Group Inc. said Wednesday a subsidiary has won a contract worth roughly $54 million.

A subsidiary of the company, King Fisher Marine Service LP, was recently awarded a contract as a subcontractor to Weston Solutions Inc. to rehabilitate and increase the capacity of multiple U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's dredge material placement areas along the Houston ship channel.

The project consists of repairing damage caused by Hurricane Ike, as well as increasing the capacity of the dredge material placement areas for future maintenance dredging.

Onsite construction of the project is expected to begin during the fourth quarter and last roughly 18 months.
