Orion wins contract worth up to $10 million

Orion Marine wins Army contract worth as much as $10M for dregding project in Texas

HOUSTON (AP) -- Orion Marine Group Inc. said Friday it has won a Army contract worth as much as $10 million for dredging work in Texas.

The project calls for the dredging of about 3 million cubic yards of material in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in Kenedy, Willacy and Cameron Counties. The work is expected to start during the fourth quarter of 2009 and take about four months.

Orion said the project was undertaken to maintain a waterway in an environmentally sensitive area.

Shares of Houston-based Orion rose 25 cents to $22.19 Friday.
