MEDFORD, Wis., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- When the team at Hometime, the popular long-running home improvement and remodeling television show, decided to build a 3,100 square foot cottage-style home in Minnesota, they knew the windows they wanted. Hurd. They also knew that they wanted to demonstrate to their audience exactly why Hurd was their window of choice, so they recently packed up and took the show on the road to visit Hurd in their Medford, WI manufacturing facilities.

Armed with cast and crew, including host Dean Johnson, Hometime spent a full day filming the special piece as they followed the home's windows down Hurd's production line. The goal of the special in-depth filming was to give Hometime viewers insight into what makes Hurd windows like no others. This included two of the company's most recent award-winning innovations: CoreGuard(TM) wood treatment system and H3(TM) windows which integrates extruded aluminum cladding, a vinyl base frame, and a solid wood interior into one window.

"It is an honor to be selected by Hometime for this home and it was an even greater honor to be able to host them at our facilities for this special feature," stated Dominic Truniger, president of HWD Acquisition. "It's one thing to see Hurd in print, but to see our products in action really brings the craftsmanship and technologies that go into them to life for our consumers."

The construction of the cottage-style home will begin airing at the end of February, with the special feature of Hurd airing as the fifth show in the sequence in early April 2010.
