NEW YORK, Jan. 13, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Board of Trustees of PIMCO New York Municipal Income Fund II (NYSE:PNI - News) (the ``Fund''), a closed-end management investment company which seeks to provide current income exempt from federal, New York State and New York City income taxes, announced today that they have declared a dividend of $0.06625 per common share.

The dividend will be payable on February 2, 2009 to shareholders of record on January 23, 2009, with an ex-dividend date of January 21, 2009.

At January 12, 2009, the Fund's net assets were $181.0 million (inclusive of market value of Preferred Stock of $90 million).
