EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Pan American Bank (Los Angeles) today announced the 8th Annual Christmas to Remember Toy Drive and Fundraiser to be held on November 19, 2009 at Pan American Bank’s Corporate Headquarters.
“The Christmas to Remember Toy Drive was created by the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce in 2002 as a means of collecting toys and raising money to provide toys for the less fortunate children in East Los Angeles. Last year the event was able to bring joy to approximately 1,000 children with the help of contributors and sponsors,” said Pan American Bank President and CEO Jesse Torres. “The economy and unemployment has continued to adversely affect our local community. As such, there are many more families that will need our assistance this year. Despite the challenges we are all dealing with, we know we can do it.”
The Christmas to Remember toy drive will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the corporate headquarters of Pan American Bank. The toy drive will run from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm and includes a business networking opportunity as well as food, drinks and entertainment. Attendees are asked to provide an unwrapped gift or a $10.00 donation to the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. The toys collected and the contributions received will provide the children of East Los Angeles with a Christmas gift at a special event to be held in December.
The East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce is seeking event sponsors. Sponsorship forms are available at http://bit.ly/JfmFY. Sponsorship proceeds will be used to purchase toys for the children. To maximize donations, Pan American Bank is asking Los Angeles-area businesses to organize their staff and clients to participate in the Toy Drive.
Those interested in participating in this year’s Christmas to Remember Toy Drive should contact Blanca Espinoza at the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce at (323) 269-0456 or bespi2@lausd.net.
