ST. LOUIS, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Peabody Energy today announced that Bradley E. Phillips has been named General Manager of Finance for its Australia Operations. He will report to Peabody Energy Australia's Chief Financial Officer Connie de Santana and will be a member of their senior management team.

Phillips has over 13 years of financial and accounting experience with the company. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Financial and Capital Planning at Peabody's world headquarters in St. Louis. He began his career at Peabody in 1996 and has held various accounting and finance positions of increasing responsibility, including Manager of Accounting, Director of Financial Reporting and Assistant Corporate Controller. Prior to joining the company, he was employed by KPMG Peat Marwick and A.G. Edwards in St. Louis.

Phillips is a graduate of Western Illinois University at Macomb with a Bachelor of Science in accountancy. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.

Replacing Phillips as Vice President of Financial and Capital Planning is Amy B. Schwetz. Schwetz will report to Peabody Energy Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Michael C. Crews. She will provide leadership in financial planning, forecasting and capital management. Schwetz joined the company in 2005 as Director of Compliance and Accounting Policies and most recently held the position of Director of Financial Planning. She was employed as an Audit Manager with Ernst & Young before joining Peabody. Schwetz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Indiana University.
