PLYMOUTH, MI--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 9, 2009 -- Perceptron, Inc. (NasdaqGM:PRCP - News), a leading provider of information-based process improvement solutions for non-contact measurement and inspection applications, today announced that it is establishing a new office in Chennai, India and has appointed Mr. Prem Aruliah as Country Manager.

Mr. Aruliah and his team will be responsible for increasing the sales of Perceptron's Automated Systems, Technology Components and Value Added Services in India's industrial markets.

India is becoming an influential player in the world's economy with a highly skilled workforce, rising middle class and expanding consumer demand in their domestic markets. Over the last three years, India has experienced a consistent growth rate above 8% in the manufacturing and service sectors.
