Pomeroy inks IT deal with energy provider

Pomeroy IT Solutions signs deal with energy provider PPL worth $18 million over 5 years

HEBRON, Ky. (AP) -- Pomeroy IT Solutions Inc., a technology and services solutions provider, said Monday that it has won a five-year contract worth $18 million to provide help desk and desk side support services to PPL Corp., a global energy company.

PPL, based in Allentown, Pa., delivers electricity to roughly 4 million customers in Pennsylvania and the United Kingdom.

PPL has the option to extend the help desk and desk side support engagement for two consecutive one-year renewal terms. If exercised, that would increase the estimated value of the contract to $25 million.

Pomeroy plans to hire roughly 45 additional technical resources to perform services specifically for PPL under the contract.
